ATTENDANCE:

Regular attendance is essential to ensure quality instruction for all students.

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT:

SBSD students are expected to act kindly and respectfully toward others at all times.

• Harming or threatening others, making degrading comments, or displaying any form of disrespectful behavior (in the studio or on social media) will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the studio.

• Students must listen and focus during class. Talking or socializing during instructional time causes distractions and will not be tolerated.

• Students should practice only the technique and choreography specific to the class they are attending.

• The use of cell phones, smart watches, or any technology during class is not permitted. Devices must be silenced, and no checking for calls or texts is allowed.

ATTIRE & HAIR:

Proper attire and shoes are required to participate in class.

• Students who arrive without proper attire or shoes may be asked to sit out.

• No bra tops are permitted.

• Hair must be neatly secured away from the face for all classes.

• Full-hour ballet classes have specific attire requirements, including hair neatly secured in a bun.

• Full attire guidelines for all classes are available on the SBSD website.

FOOD AND DRINK:

• Absolutely no eating during class.

• Snacks between classes must be eaten outside or in designated seating areas—never on the dance floor.

• Only drink containers with secure lids or straws are permitted; no open containers allowed.

CLASSROOM OBSERVATION POLICY:

SBSD has a closed-studio observation policy to maintain a focused learning environment.

• Only students and teachers are permitted in the studio during class time.

• Poway Studio: A viewing TV is available in the lobby.

• RB Studio: On occasion, doors will be opened and parents invited in to watch the final minutes of class.

PARKING - RB STUDIO ONLY

• The Bernardo Oaks parking lot is for RB Swim & Tennis Club members only.

• Non-members must use the back parking lot off Pomerado Road for parking, drop-off, and pick-up.

• Blocking traffic in either lot is prohibited—please pull into a parking space or circle to keep traffic moving. Do not wait or park in handicapped spaces without proper authorization.

SWIM & TENNIS CLUB FACILITIES - RB STUDIO ONLY:

SBSD students and families must respect all RB S&T Club rules.

• Non-members may use the dance rooms, tables outside the dance rooms, restrooms, and playground*.

• Playground use is a privilege: No extended playdates before or after class for non-members. Siblings may use the playground while waiting, but only under active adult supervision. Children of all ages must be supervised on the playground.
